Hidden Gems of Vic Park

Segment: Hidden Gems of Vic Park
Episode: S3E6
Presenter: Stuart Laws
Air Date: 15th December 2019

Stuart unearths some hidden gems of the town of Victoria Park, which has a long history of being a cultural melting pot of cuisines. Easily accessible by public transport and just a short distance away from the CBD, this area hosts a great variety of good quality eateries.

  • The team at Laika Coffee roast and brew some amazing single origin coffee. They also make some great food, like the Leika stack or the pumpkin hummus. The basketball court at the back, originally just a spot for the staff to hang out after work, has now become one of the shop’s main attractions.
  • Common Place Artisan Bakery has been serving up the best house made croissants, macarons and pastries to the Lathlain locals for the past four years. There are not many places in Perth that make all their own pastry from scratch: come and try for yourself, you’ll notice the difference!
  • If you are looking for something truly world class you can’t go past Hampton and Maley, down by the Swan river. Top Perth chef Hadleigh Troy explains that they make their own sourdough, they culture and make their own butter, they smoke their own trout and all their produce is fresh and of premium quality.
